Other Services

We are happy to accept all ages to be baptised. Please contact Father Ed directly or come to a church service and introduce yourself. Baptisms can be held most Sundays at the 10am service or, if the family prefers, separately at noon..

As a wedding venue, St. Martin's has all the peace and tranquillity that is sought in a place of worship, coupled with the beautiful ornamentation which provides a backdrop to the highlight of the day - the Wedding Ceremony itself. And the Wedding March, played live on the church organ - built by the 'father' of church organs, Henry Willis - adds further to the atmosphere.

Father Ed will be delighted to help you get everything arranged to your requirements, so that your wedding at St. Martin's is a wonderful and memorable experience. Please contact Father Ed to enquire about available dates and the publication of banns. Worried about costs – the service with organist, choir, flowers in church and bells costs less than £800 – without some of these it can be much less – talk to Father Ed

Church is an ideal place for a service to commemorate the life of a recently departed loved one without the pressure of the following service. Such a service can be before a short service at the crematorium or following the service in the crematorium.

St. Martin's is an ideal spot for a person's final resting place. The churchyard is now closed for new burials, but ashes can be interred in our gardens of remembrance. The interment of ashes usually takes place following the Sunday morning Mass - ashes are processed out from the church with choir and altar party and laid to rest with a short service. Joining the congregation in the hall for coffee allows the stone mason to set the memorial tablet in place then the family can add flowers to make this resting place special. Talk to Father Ed about arrangements for this.
